Charter buses have plenty of cargo space, so over-packing isn't usually a problem — but knowing what to keep on the seat with you vs in the cargo bay makes the trip smoother.
Below is the packing list that works for most multi-day group trips. Adjust for season, destination, and trip length.

Carry-on (keep with you on the seat)
What to bring on board.
Phone + charger cable
Power outlets at every seat (110V North American). Bring your own cable.
Headphones
Personal audio for movies/music without bothering others.
Water bottle
Stay hydrated. Refill at stops.
Snacks
Trail mix, granola bars, fruit. Avoid anything that smells strongly.
Light layer
Climate is controlled but personal preferences vary.
Book or downloaded entertainment
Wi-Fi is sometimes weak in mountain areas — have offline backup.
Hand sanitizer
Useful at rest stops and after washroom use.
Tissues / wet wipes
Always handy on a multi-hour ride.
Important documents (ID, passport for US trips)
Keep on your person, not in cargo.
Cargo (under-coach lockable bays)
What goes in cargo.
Suitcases
Large lockable underbelly bays. Loaded by driver.
Sports equipment
Hockey bags, golf clubs, ski equipment all fit.
Conference materials, banners, signage
Cargo handles boxes and banners well.
Group event supplies
Decorations, gifts, audio gear (kept secure).
Leave at home
What you don't need.
Power converters
Coach outlets are standard 110V North American — same as home.
Wi-Fi hotspot
Coach Wi-Fi works in most areas.
Pillows/blankets (short trips)
Reclining seats are comfortable enough for sub-4-hour legs.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what most groups want to know before they book.
For multi-day trips, 1 large suitcase per person fits easily in cargo. For day trips, just bring what you need on the seat.
Cargo bays are lockable but bumpy. Anything fragile (laptops, glass, instruments) should ride on the seat with you.
Yes — coaches don't provide food/water for standard trips. We do plan meal stops on multi-day trips.
On a coach, you stay overnight in a hotel — not on the bus. So no pillow needed for the bus itself. Bring a small travel pillow if you tend to nap on long legs.
For a private group booking, yes — small coolers are fine in cargo or at your feet. Larger coolers (full team coolers, alcohol coolers) are case-by-case.
